WELCOME

We strive to make all new comers comfortable, and have designed our dances to serve a wide range of ages and backgrounds.  Whether you haven't danced for 30 years, are an accomplished dancer, or are seeking a focused place to explore spirit through movement, you should find our environment suited for your quest. What we ask is that you be true to yourself, while respecting others and the sacred space that we co-create.

EVENT FLOW

Warm-up
During the first 30 minutes, people arrive, stretch, move/dance, and reflect on their intention(s) for the dance.

Introduction
5-10 minutes. Participants circle up and the dance ritual is introduced.

Ritual
75 minutes of free-form dance.  Their is no guidance nor any obligation to move in any particular way.  People are invited to let the music guide their steps, emotions and journey.

End sharing
10-15 minutes of sharing in sacred space.  Participants express their experience of the dance.

Feast
At the end of the dance, we partake in a scromptious feast offered by the participants.

AGREEMENT

We are a non-verbal space
In order to foster a sacred, focused and safe space, participants agree to refrain from conversation during the warm-up and the ritual. This practice affirms that we are choosing to leave our ordinary reality behind for the duration of the dance in order to create extraordinary conditions for our engagement in sacred ritual .
What to wear
You can come in sweats, pyjama or festival attire.  Dress to support your journey through the ritual. Traditionally, these rituals are meant to honor the ancestors.  Dress as creatively and wildly as you wish.

Children
We enjoy the participation of children in our rituals as long as they can abide by our non-speaking agreement.  * See Chidren at the dance survey from our Taos, NM location.

Fragrance
Please refrain from wearing chemical and other strong fragrance as some participants may be chemically sensitive.
