Poki (aka Skywalker) Visions of these dances came to me ten years before I initiated Gypsie Nation. I stepped into this form of dance as a means to overcome the grief of my separation from a partner and her kids, and the sudden death of my mother in a car accident. Since then, the visions have come back to me and have fueled the unfolding of this project. In the critical times that we live in, I believe that this ancient and universal form of medicine is one of the most empowering and accessible healing environments that we can offer our communities. The dance has taken me through a journey of remembering and reclaiming my birthright as a spirit dancer, opening new layers of communications with the Earth's intelligence and with the ancestral spirits. I pray that many people join us in this effort to bring back the dance as our most sacred form of medicine, and that we each remember the times where dancing in such a way was an integral part of our lives. May the Spirits guiding this vision help us find a way to a sustainable way of life. I will be on a spirit journey in Africa from January-May 2008 Traveling blog Biography Articles: Dance as Spiritual Practice , Trance-a journey into the unknown
